The Maine Department of Labor issued a reminder that quarterly reporting and contributions for the paid family and medical leave program go into effect on January 1, 2025. A proposed rule to implement the program has also been issued, along with updated guidance (FAQ).
Employers may opt to use a private plan that meets the requirements. Applications to use a private plan can be submitted after April 1, 2025, and the state will review.
